About

The Infant Jesus Catholic Community or IJCC is a marriage encounter-based Catholic Christian community based in the province of Tarlac and the town of Guimba, Nueva Ecija. It was established in 1992 after an initial group of couples ME Class 01 attended a marriage encounter weekend (MEW) organized by the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Community in Manila. The community is officially under the spiritual care of the Diocese of Tarlac.

Currently, more than 500 couples had become members through the annual MEW organized by the Family and Life Ministry of IJCC.

The IJCC Logo

The green backdrop stands for Hope, hope for the future of Infant Jesus Catholic Community. The dove is the Holy Spirit, the source of all strength and inspiration to do apostolate work. Love is symbolized by the hearts, and purposely. there is no space between the hearts and the dove, to show the love that is present among all members. This love is the basic ingredient that binds all together. The two overlapping circles show the complementary relationship of husbands and wives, while the burning candles inside them show the inspiration of the Holy Spirit enkindled in their hearts. The crib stands for new birth, and the rising sun symbolizes the path of light the Community hopes to go by. God the Father is the big circle, who looks after the whole Community, as if making certain that it grows under His care and love.

Therefore, the IJCC symbol is not just a logo, it is a reminder that the Community’s apostolate is actually a manifestation of God’s love and care for all.

(Sister Marty, a German nun belonging to the Sisters of the Holy Spirit designed the IJCC symbol in 1992.)

A Brief History

As every couple who have attended the Marriage Encounter can attest, their experience of a magical weekend cannot be forgotten over the years because it was for them, another beautiful beginning to their married life. The same holds true for a group of friends in Tarlac. Though the M.E. movement in their town was discontinued in the 80’s, they still cherished their own M.E.W.

Sharings of their M.E.W. and what it did to their marriage always cropped up when they start reminiscing the past. A general sentiment of hunger for follow up programs and a wish to share the M.E. experience to other friends and acquaintances were often voiced out. This feeling finally felled up to a dream of reviving the M.E. in Tarlac. Without their knowing at that time, God was already guiding them for His marvelous plans.

Tito Ben and Tita Luz Gadi, a couple dear to their hearts, being their M.E. presentors in their own M.E.W. and being the pioneer of the M.E. movement in Tarlac, seemed to be the most likely couple to talk with, several meetings were set up between them and Tito Boy and Tita Edna Dondiego and Tito Naning Alinea of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Prayer Community. The group started recruiting, in February 1992, more couples to supplement their number. The Tarlac group, numbering 11 couples brought seven couples to Tagaytay for an M.E. Weekend. Slowly but surely, their dreams began to materialize.

But what about their name? As surely as God has led them to make their dream a reality, God through His Holy Spirit inspired Tito Ben to give them the name, Infant Jesus Catholic Community, similar to an infant beginning its journey towards spiritual adulthood and maturity.

Tito Orly and Tita Jessica delos Santos were assigned as the first Shepherd Couple so that IJCC may be given the full support of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary Prayer Community. Tito Windy Solis on the other hand, helped IJCC form their organizational structure.

Armed with these pillars of support and with the Holy Spirit as the source of inspiration, the Infant Jesus Catholic Community continues to grow stronger and bigger and glowing in God’s grace everyday. The Infant Jesus Catholic Community is determined, more than ever, to bringing more and more couples to God!
